Ever since I started writing, I've seen...Yeah. Ever since I started writing, I've seen a lot more problems with books I read (the number of typos are surprising).

Perhaps it is a part of the subconscious, letting you know that a specific point is not the same as the 'correct' ones in memory. Sort of the same thing as when it happens while you write.Jake Heneganhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05031767958230378191noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8128453328718261159.post-65808997426286266252011-08-07T08:52:01.553+02:002011-08-07T08:52:01.553+02:00I see what you mean, but sometimes, I can't he...I see what you mean, but sometimes, I can't help but read like a writer. It's not necessarily a good thing, but when I'm drafting, part of me is always a step away from what I'm reading, watching the flow of plot and getting more jarred than normal when something isn't right.

When I'm editing, it's worse, because then I pick up grammatical errors and head hopping etc.

I try to switch it off, but it doesn't always work.Misha Gerrickhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06364173848456424521noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8128453328718261159.post-51110266211232705302011-08-06T09:48:16.193+02:002011-08-06T09:48:16.193+02:00Eagle: I found that there are a lot of things that...Eagle: I found that there are a lot of things that this is applicable on (not just reading).

Mood: Good.Jake Heneganhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05031767958230378191noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8128453328718261159.post-33182873063420580742011-08-05T23:32:14.574+02:002011-08-05T23:32:14.574+02:00I'd agree with that.I'd agree with that.mooderinohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01523337588830695638noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8128453328718261159.post-83026511342272851752011-08-05T20:19:45.841+02:002011-08-05T20:19:45.841+02:00I agree. I find there are often things to be learned from reading another author's work, but the subconscious is good at picking up smaller details it would just take a lot of effort to catch consciously.Golden Eaglehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08721520451194318436noreply@blogger.com
